Restaurant Indian Tandoori in Mainz

I ordered through the delivery service. The Chicken Korma is delicious. I usually order the same dish in all Indian restaurants and can say that it was by far the best! Highly recommended

We ordered food to be delivered here via mainz-liefert.de. The waiting time was generally reasonable, the food came out nice and hot and was partly packed in "sustainable" to-go packaging, not just in plastic. The portions were big enough, I would have liked the dishes a little more spicy. In my opinion, the price-performance ratio is completely okay :) PS: I really liked the vegetarian samosas.

The decoration on the tables and throughout the restaurant is appropriate and tasteful. The toilet is always clean and all in all the place makes a very good impression. Something I can really recommend are the desserts. Mother and I have been there for the fourth time and have tried a bit new things every time we visit. The workforce was fast, clean and friendly. I found the offer particularly pleasant.

Food and drink (biryani, curry, mango lassi, masala chai, naan) was extremely tasty and the portions generous. The price was good and the staff very friendly. We also really liked the ambience! Everything was great, deserved 5 stars.

Food tasted very good. Unfortunately we had to wait almost an hour for this and only on request. Here we would have liked to be proactively told that the meal might be late because of x, y. Everything else was good and the prices are really cheap. The use of the Schlemmerblock was also easy to do. But maybe because of that it wasn't so important to get the food on time. We hope these things don't manifest. Otherwise the restaurant is very nice and worth a visit.

I was so excited to try the food that I didn’t took pictures, I absolutely love ❤️ the place. I have try Indian food in different countries in Europe and this is the best in Germany so far.

We have been to this restaurant yesterday after looking through the menu and finding many interesting dishes that we knew and wanted to enjoy again. The reservation process was pretty simple. But when we arrived the first thing we noticed was that the place looked neat and clean yet the distance between the tables was not as much as you would expect during a pandemic. Some tables were equipped with some glass but on others you sat almost back to back to other strangers. Since our table was a bit out of the way of the main traffic we decided to give it a try anyway. Later when we ordered the food we all picked a variety of dishes, some of them were predicted as hot in the menu particularly so we expected nice food. The time till it arrived took around 45 minutes then though or even more. And when we tried it we were all very surprised. It looked delicious, yet was missing spices almost completely, so it tasted alright but not what you would expect especially in an Indian place at all. When we asked them about it they said many people would not be able to stand the spiciness so they adjusted it to the standards here what we found unfortunate since that is not what you go in a specialized restaurant for. But even in the German kitchen you find things with more spices than here. Also you could tell the guests in advance that the have to mention in their order particularly if they want their food hot or mild in addition to what is described in the menu. Another thing was that the waiters were pretty busy and did not really ask if everything was okay. Some of them did not wear their masks properly either and in the end I got the bill of another table first. So if you are in search of an authentic Indian place you won't find it here unfortunately.

We only give one star for the restaurant. Price performance is a joke! Portion bowls are modified so that the man max. gets a children's portion for the full price. Delicious but rip off ....

1st time Indian super delicious all friendly

Can’t comment on the food because it never arrived yet. In fact we never got to order as they left us with the menus for about 20 minutes while walking past repeatedly. I’ve never left a negative comment before but we had to walk out in the end and try elsewhere. To answer the claim that I didn’t know where I was, it was certainly your restaurant and I was being kind about the service. I’m not that surprised they didn’t see us leave because they made a great job of ignoring us all the time we were there.

Well one start for the location. Food was not tasty. I mean not even close to real Indian food. Toilets were dirty. And for that food a bit pricey.

Great food and ambience. Special requests of any kind are dealt with. I can only recommend the Indian Tandoori

I have to admit it was the first time that I ate Indian, but thanks to this restaurant I got a taste for it immediately. There were already a few guests there, but the order was served quickly. My dish completely convinced me and tasted very, very delicious. As already mentioned by other reviews, there is a very harmonious and cozy atmosphere. For me it was definitely not the last time that I will eat there.

The food is too expensive and not even close to authentic Indian dishes. We ordered butter chicken and karai gosh which were totally ridiculus. The staff on the other hand looked dead and had little attitude. I mean even a smile would be appreciated. Never gonna go there again.

Very pricey. Food not upto standard. Very pathetic service. It took 70 mins for the food to serve. The food was cold and looked like it was from the fridge. Not worth it.

Good restaurant if you really need Indian food on travel to Germany

Definitely the best Indian in Mainz! Delicious food, very attentive and always friendly staff. Does not look so inviting from the outside but does not let it fool you. Inside maybe a bit tight, but the food is really great and the restaurant makes a very neat and clean impression, absolute recommendation, always happy again!

Real Indian food

Super tasty, even if the employees seem a bit overwhelmed when it is full, it makes up for eating easily. It's really, really, really delicious. I also like that it is so small that gives the whole a very special charm and not this station atmosphere like many of these restaurants. I was Indian for the first time and it totally convinced me. I'll go back in December :-)

Do not order water here unless you want to pay €6, which is pretty ridiculous. The naan bread was also not good, so I wouldn’t get this either. But overall the vegetarian dishes were pretty good, though the prices were on the high side. Nice atmosphere.

Great and nicely decorated restaurant. Randomly came across as opposed to the shop of "Weltmusik Mainz". The food was delicious, as well as the selection of dishes gladly again!

Ordered tikka masala lamb and coudnt chew the meet

We love Indian food then we came to visited Indian Tandoori. Appetizer was too oily of course I knew deep fried but seem like they fried while cooking oil not hot yet. Main course looking nice. And last thing found small hair on desert (got appologize). We decided to leave and pay check.

extremely arrogant staff ... your staff who served us (the one from Afghanistan) was extremely unfriendly and kept ignoring and mixing up our requests on purpose and gave a sarcastic smile every time we requested him to bring what was forgotten .. and at the end he also started a discussion on race ! extremely annoying and irritating...

It was the worst Indian food I have ever had. The so called "Paneer Tikka Masala" was so awful. First know the true meaning of paneer before putting it in food. This kind of food is okay to satisfy the needs of non-Indians. But I would recommend that please don't spoil the name of India by calling it "Indian Tandoori". The staff makes you feel uncomfortable as they keeps staring at you constantly. I found the food and the place below average. I would never recommend it to anyone. Review from true Indian!!

Delicious food. Very friendly service and quiet atmosphere. You get delicious starters while waiting for main plate. Mango lassi is little bit too sweet but creamy and full mango flavored, really good. One of the best Indian restaurants I've been in. Tasty!

Okay for first time visit to know about Indian food but not recommend for more visits
